Organiser Tips For Festival Security

While professional security teams are important to festival security, there are lots of other things that you, as the organiser of the event, can do to promote safety and security at your event. Here are some tips for festival security.

1.    Put a cap on the number of people who can enter.
This is especially important if the space you are using is only so big. Large crowds of people can be dangerous simply by standing too close together and not having the space needed to move freely.

2.    Provide plenty of litter bins.
This may seem obvious, but it’s important to safety as well because people can trip on packages and other litter, and broken glass can be very dangerous.

3.    Do not allow children to enter unaccompanied.
This will help to prevent children and teens from causing trouble, as well as prevent children getting lost or even kidnapped. Have a cut off age, such as 16, so that if someone challenges you, you can tell them it’s in your regulations.

4.    Consider banning glass bottles.
This will take care of any potential injuries due to broken glass. Allow people to bring cans and plastic bottles, but check any glass bottles at the gate or ask that they return them to their vehicle.

These are just a few tips to help you plan a secure festival event. But remember, there is no substitute for professional security patrolling and event stewards. It’s always wise to have security guards patrolling a festival to ensure the public’s safety.
